Meet Our Board Members
Jackie Nagle - President
Jackie Nagle, President, has been a lifelong disability advocate. She worked for a Center for Independent Living in Reading, PA, for many years, but before that she started her advocacy with her parents as a child with a disability at a very young age. She was always taught to fight for herself and then as she matured, she fought the hard fight for others. She is currently the CEO of Supporting Empowering Lives Foundation, Inc.
She can be found at many speaking engagements around the state including universities, churches, non- profit organizations, and other business entities. We appreciate her energy, optimism, and support.
Sarah Sechrist, Vice-President
Sarah Sechrist, Vice-President, has been devoted to working in the human services field for nearly 15 years, most recently as the Family Services Advocate for Compass Mark, a non-profit organization in Lebanon, Lancaster, and Chester Counties. Community education, family advocacy, promoting trauma-informed practices, and serving others has been a driving force in her career as both a group facilitator and caregiver.
Sarah earned her B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Services Management from East Stroudsburg University in 2011, and has grown with professional certifications and curricula in her field of work, such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Parenting Inside Out. Sarah and her husband are proud parents of three children, and enjoys creating family traditions and travelling at any opportunity.
Calyn Brewer - Treasurer
Calyn Brewer is a visionary nonprofit leader who serves as Senior Director of Innovation at Bethany Children’s Home, a sanctuary for vulnerable youth across Pennsylvania.
Armed with a Master’s in Organizational Development & Leadership, Calyn expertly leads strategic planning initiatives that transform organizational vision into actionable roadmaps for sustainable growth and impact. Beyond her transformative work at Bethany, Calyn demonstrates her commitment to community service through multiple board positions. She currently serves on the boards of QUEST, Inc. and Berks County Children’s Alliance Center, while also chairing the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce Non-profit Round table.
Calyn further extends her leadership as a member of the National Alumni Board for Saint Joseph’s University, where she helps strengthen connections between alumni and her Alma mater. Through these leadership roles, she continues to advocate for innovative approaches to addressing complex social challenges across Pennsylvania.
When not advancing her professional mission, Calyn cherishes time with her family and two beloved dogs, finding that this balance enriches her perspective and fuels her passion for creating positive change in the communities she serves.
Jim Williams
Board MemberJim has four children; three scattered along the eastern half of the country and one in Utah. He is also blessed with 3 wonderful grandchildren.
Penny Samuelson
Board MemberIn her retirement she enjoys gardening, quilting and staying active. She can frequently be seen walking her brown Chesapeake Bay retriever or relaxing at home with her more sedate Bulldog.
Jim Faren
Board MemberHe has served on the City of Lebanon Planning Commission from 2004 and was appointed Chairman in March 2018 and serves in that position currently. He is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a past member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jim joined the Board in October 2019.
